Sets & parts & minidolls! Oh my...

I'm working on something that requires me to build all of my Friends sets. Mind you, I had them all parted out and put away in buckets, bins and containers (oh my). I am now trying to find ALL of the pieces, set by set. Thankfully I keep all of my instructions nicely organized. I am primarily a MOCer and do not build the set again after buying it, building it, and parting it out. But I am excited for the final result.

Slowly but surely I will finish this!

What style of building do you do? Do you buy the sets to build them and display, or do you buy sets to use those sweet, sweet parts?

Felicia's Flowers & Cloud Coffee [MOC]

I was looking through my list of ideas to see what I should make next. The flower shop caught my eye. I started to build it on a 32x32 stud baseplate, and realized it was way too big. Meanwhile, I was on the Friends Bricks forum and found a thread about the Friends Special Edition magazine in the UK. There were some printable instructions that, coincidentally, had a flower shop and a walk up café together. This made me realize that I've been wanting to make a coffee shop as well.

This is what I came up with:

Both buildings have solar panels on their roof. There are also some
electrical boxes and A/C unit.

LEGO Storage: Instruction Booklets

Have you ever been watching a YouTube video and seen someone show off their box full of LEGO instructions? This makes me cringe! They get all beat up, crinkled or maybe even torn! I shudder at the thought.

So what do I do? I use binders. I know a lot of LEGO fans store their instructions in the same manner, but for those of you that don't, please reconsider. Think of your poor instructions that just want to be taken care of.

I have a lot binders because, well let's face it, I have some LEGO OCD. Some of these binders are not very full, but I like to be able to find something when I am looking for it. My trusty label maker (I suggest every LEGO fan get one) has made it easy for me to determine which binder is which, and with a uniformity that I love.

My LEGO instruction binders. As my LEGO collection grows, so does the amount of binders.
