On the last day of the 2013 Advent Calendar we receive a beautifully wrapped blue present. I'm surprised there wasn't something a little more exciting, but the blue tiles are desirable. Let's put it under the tree.

Today appears to be a sled with a couple of small presents. I wonder who will be bringing these tomorrow? The construction makes sense, but it isn't very appealing. Prior days have had more exciting builds, and we are getting to the end. I think this should have been in an earlier day.

Squeek squeek. We get a squirrel. She goes in the perch for the tree that Day 22 brought us. She is the same squirrel from set 41017 Squirrel's Tree House. I wish she was a different color. That would have been nice. But it is great to get an animal. There is one extra bow.

Today we get yet another toy, this time a crane. The build really is genius. The boy is going to be spoiled. There is an extra "wrench", gun, trans brown cheese, yellow cheese, 1x1 yellow tile, 1x1 yellow round plate, and 1x1 trans orange round plate.

Day 22 is the perch that goes on the Christmas tree. It's really cute by itself as a container, and will look nice in the tree. There is an extra white round 1x1 plate.

This is the most adorable mini build I've ever seen. And there's even an ice cream piece as a smoke stack. It's so clever and cute. This is my favorite build so far.

Day 21 brings us a music sheet for caroling. I can't quite tell what the other piece is supposed to be, whether it's a flashlight, or a megaphone? I honestly don't know. 

Edit: User ericjohn on the Friends Bricks forum brought to my attention that it is most likely a lantern.

O Christmas tree O Christmas tree! This tree is adorable, but I think the 2x2 green cone is a little too big. I think a 1x1 green cone would have worked and looked a little more proportional. The tree topper is very clever and we get an extra star to go with it. There is also an extra round 1x1 trans pink plate.

Yesterday's boy with the remote control gets two airplanes to fly around! They are cleverly built with no special techniques needed. We get an extra trans cheese slope and an extra white cheese slope.

Day 19

Warm your hands by the fire. This build is really neat as it uses the SNOT technique. Everything except for the flame is upside down. It is beautiful in it's simplicity. There is an extra flame and brown flower piece.

 Today we get a little boy with a remote control. There is an extra hat, three extra shift knobs, and four extra orange 1x1 round tiles. That's a lot of extras!

He has a very cute torso printing of a spaceman, but the back is plain. His freckles add to his youthfulness.

I hope we get whatever that control is for tomorrow!

The race car driver gets a go cart to practice in! The wheels from Day 16 will help this little car drive along any track you need to go around. We get one extra green 1x2 cheese slope.

Oh my goodness this MP3 docking station is so flippin' cute. The 1x1 round plates look like speakers and the back even uses a telephone piece to act as a handle, reminiscent of a boombox! We get one extra 1x1 round plate. Pump up the jams!

Here is a handsome race car driver equipped with the tools necessary to fix the vehicle. There are eleven extra pieces which makes me wonder if I accidentally received too many, or if Lego wants to make sure we have enough pieces if one goes missing.

Today we get an astronaut with a tree topper for yesterday's Christmas Tree. He comes with a brilliant gold visor and really makes him look like he belongs in space. We get two extra wands and one visor.

Day 13 brings us the attachment to the snowmobile from Day 2. You can put a present on it, but you can also put a minidoll on it there is the modified foot plate.

It's a Christmas tree! This is an adorable build with two extra 1x1 round plates, one yellow and one red. You could even put the yellow one on the top to act as a star if you wanted. I appreciate the amount of detail in such a small tree.

We are halfway there and today we get some presents! The yellow one look a little like a cake, but the green one represents a present well. There's an extra flower too. Hopefully we see a tree soon!

Today we have received a nice barbeque for our lady firefighter to cook her sausages on. I like the compact look, but I could do without the flame popping out. I think a fourth grate would have looked a little better, but I still like it. We get an extra flame, 1x1 trans orange round plate, and a 1x1 gray tile.

Cha ching! Some LEGO money to go shopping at the vendor stands. This is a bit lackluster, but I do like the 1x1 round pearl gold tiles (they make good doorknobs), one of which is extra. They will both fit in the purse with the $100 bill, but you have to squeeze it in.

Day 10

Today we receive a lovely lady firefighter. She's ready to cook sausages and put out a fire if necessary. We get two extra sausages, two extra "wrench" clips, an extra helmet, an extra 1x1 round brick and two extra "taps."

I really appreciate TLG adding more details to the minifigures. She has front and back torso printing, as well as front leg printing. The silver is truly reflective, just like a real fire fighter!

Today isn't a build, but there are some lovely accessories. Wine bottles, goblets, turkey legs, pizza and cherries. The second cherry is the extra piece. I love LEGO food so even though we didn't get a build, I'm not disappointed.

Day 6

Everyone likes to drink coffee and/or cocoa, even robbers! He gets an extra cup, as well as two extra scarves/bandanas and a beanie hat.

He has the new, dubious looking head from the recent City sets. I love the mischievous mustache and crooked smile. I also enjoy the new outfit the criminals are wearing. Seems a bit more useful and cat-burglar like.

That's it? I looked at my boyfriend this morning, disappointed, and he said, "They can't all be winners." I suppose that's true but I'm still a bit bummed. The jewels and 1x1 gold round tiles are quite nice pieces. I hope tomorrow is something a bit bigger.
